If you’ve been into Wine & Whey, I’d be willing to bet it was for a class that we offer regularly, right? Well, that’s awesome! In an effort to keep things fun and interesting here, we are adding some cool new classes to our roster!
First, just a reminder, that Denver Flea is coming back to the RiNo for two days only, on June 25th and 26th, so don’t miss out on that. If you’re already scheduled to come into Wine & Whey, we have sent out tickets through email so that you can get into the gates. If you’re scheduled to come in and have not received a ticket, please let us know! You cannot get in with out it! If you’d like to come and check out what we’re doing for the Flea, or check out the other 150+ local vendors, tickets are only $5! Plus, they include a free drink ticket (specifically a New Belgium Brewing beer or Denver Flea margarita inside the event). RSVP to the Facebook event page (there’s also a link there to purchase tickets).
Back to classes!
Recently, Pamela and a couple of her friends got together to do some soap making for a birthday party. Schelli, one of Pamela’s friends, had been making soap for a long time. The party had so much fun, that Pamela has asked Schelli to come teach a class here! This fun, and interactive class should be up on our calendar soon, so keep an eye out for updates on our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages!
If I was right earlier, and you have been to a class here (specifically cheese making), there’s a strong possibility that you’ve heard Pamela talk about her and her husband’s farm out in Bennett. With that conversation, not only do eggs come up, but so does that fact that she cures her own bacon, and that she ferments her own kimchi too. Well, we’ve had enough people ask for it, so we are also going to add a couple of kimchi making classes to our calendar! There are many health benefits to eating kimchi and, as a fermented food, it fits right in here at Wine & Whey. In the class, you’ll learn more about how kimchi reacts in your body and what happens during the fermentation process.
In the past few years, the “paint and sip” style events have become really popular around Denver. So, why wouldn’t we add that as well? We are located in the RiNo Art District, after all. Local artist James Andre has teamed up with us to help us get the ball rolling on this! Not only do you get to come and enjoy some of our fantastic wine, but also you’ll get some great knowledge from a successful artist! We also make sure to have fun, dance-worthy music playing, so that you can really get into the vibe and energy of the art!
So, keep an eye out for all these fun, new classes! We’ll be posting updates as they’re officially added to the calendar and our online store. We can’t wait!
Last but not least! If you (or someone you know) are an artist looking to sell some pieces and show in First Friday exhibits, please contact us! We’re always on the lookout for new local artists to showcase! You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and include a link to a website or pictures of your works if you’re interested! Please spread the word!
